Hello — I’m Eleanor Ray, author of Everything Is Beautiful, The Art of Belonging and See the Stars.

I write uplifting, heartfelt novels about hope, belonging and the light we find in unexpected places. My stories often begin with ordinary moments — a forgotten dream, a rediscovered passion, a small act of courage — and grow into journeys about second chances and connection.
Before I became an author, I spent over ten years working in financial marketing. It was a good career, but I always felt something was missing. Everything changed when I went on a creative writing retreat in Turkey, led by the wonderful Philippa Pride, and realised that writing didn’t have to be a distant dream. That experience — and a lot of persistence — eventually led to my novel, Everything Is Beautiful.
My most recent book, See the Stars, was inspired by my young son’s love of space and our shared fascination with the universe. Writing it reminded me how much joy there is in curiosity — and how often, in both life and fiction, we find our way by looking up.
I also host the Ray of Light podcast, where I talk with authors and creatives about writing, reading, and finding joy in the creative process.
If there’s a thread running through everything I do, it’s this: even when life doesn’t go to plan, there’s always light to be found — in stories, in people, and in the small, beautiful moments of everyday life.
